Looking about 5 miles down the shores of St. Joseph Bay, you can see the lighthouse which marks Port St. Joe and the area’s main city offering shopping in the historic downtown district along with two grocery stores and plenty of restaurants and quaint cafes.
Port St. Joe is known as the “Constitution City,” founded in 1835 as St. Joseph, and it was here that delegates from all counties in Territorial Florida assembled in 1838 to draft Florida’s first State Constitution.
There’s plenty to do year-round in Port St. Joe, from the annual Scallop Festival to weekend Farmer’s Markets. For a complete list of events, visit Gulf County Tourism’s Events & Festivals page.
